Frolov Nikolay Alekseyevich
(10.11.1923 – 07.11.2011)

Nikolai Frolov was born November 10, 1923 in the Sindeevka village of Kursk region, Russia into a farming family.

In the early days of the Great Patriotic War, he voluntarily went to Tambov Artillery Technical School.

In December 1941, Lieutenant machinery Nikolai Frolov began his military service in 1237th Infantry Regiment. 373rd Infantry Division, which served as Nikolai, participated in the crossing of the Dnieper, the release of many Russian, Ukrainian, Moldovan, other towns and villages, among them the Mirgorod.

On the morning of September 18, 1943 1235-th, 1237th and 1239th Infantry Regiment began to storm the town and in the first half of the day went into Mirgorod.

Nikolai Frolov participated in the fighting on the territory of Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Germany and Czechoslovakia. In the 373rd Division Nikolai served until the end of the war.

Every year during the liberation Mirgorod from Nazi invaders Nikolai Frolov visited our town to pay homage to the blessed memory of the lost soldiers.

Nikolay Frolow was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, Red Star, the Order "For Courage" medal "For Military Merit", "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45," and many jubilee medals.

Nikolay Frolow died November 7, 2011.

11 session of the Mirgorod Council on March 10, 1999 Nikolay Frolov awarded the title of «Honorary Citizen of Mirgorod».
